The Vietnam DT4 Investment Visa is a foreign investor visa for those who plan to create and operate a business in Vietnam. An applicant 18 or older either sets up a new legal entity or acquires an existing company, contributing capital or buying shares, with no minimum investment amount except for certain special business activities. The DT4 visa is valid for up to one year and is renewable subject to conditions, and a work permit, which is required to run the company, can be valid for up to two years and is also renewable.
The visa carries the right to live and work in Vietnam and no language requirement, though a DT4 holder cannot apply directly for a temporary residence card and the applicant's family does not benefit from the program. Investors must hold the nationality of a World Trade Organization member country and obtain all required licenses before running the company. Processing runs 4 to 6 months.
