The Thailand Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa lets foreign nationals live and work in Thailand under a 10-year permission, granted first for 5 years and renewable once for another 5 if the qualifications are met. It is offered across five categories: Wealthy Global Citizens, Wealthy Pensioners, Work-from-Thailand Professionals, Highly-Skilled Professionals, and Dependents.
A Wealthy Global Citizen holds at least USD 1 million in assets and invests a minimum of USD 500,000, while a Wealthy Pensioner must be retired and over 50 with income of at least USD 80,000 a year, or USD 40,000 to 80,000 with a USD 250,000 investment.
Benefits include the right to work, a 17% personal income tax rate for highly-skilled professionals, tax exemption on overseas income, airport fast-track, and a multiple re-entry permit, with the 90-day report replaced by a yearly one.
A spouse, children under 20, parents, and legal dependents can be added. The processing fee is 50,000 Baht.
