- An applicant can make a qualified investment in Panama through the following options:

To qualify for the PQIIP, the applicant must:

- Spouse of the main applicant.
- Unmarried dependent children up to 18 years old.
- Unmarried dependent children between 18 years old and 25 years old if they enroll in an education center on a regular basis and is economically dependent on the main applicant.
- Relative with disability that is economically dependent of the main applicant.
Upon getting approved for permanent residence under PQIIP, one can travel freely to Panama, without having to fully settle in Panama. To maintain the permanent residence status, the applicant does not have to establish domicile in Panama and is only required to travel to Panama at least once every two years to maintain the visa.
The average processing time is 30 days.
There is no need to reside in Panama during the application process, however, once the application is approved, the applicant will need to visit the Immigration Department in Panama to have his photo and fingerprints taken before the permanent residence card can be issued to him.
