The client's goal was to relocate to the UK and pursue the pathway to indefinite leave to remain and, eventually, British citizenship for themselves and their family. The client had multiple intentions for exploring the UK Innovator Founder Visa. They were looking to create a new business in the UK, specifically in the software sector. They also wanted to give their children the opportunity to attend school in the UK while providing their family with an option to obtain a British passport due to the benefits it offers from a visa-free travel viewpoint.
Obstacles & Complications
Business Idea & Outsourcing Issue
The client was initially struggling to think of a business idea that would be suitable for the UK Innovator Founder Visa. Due to the program's strict conditions, the business idea had to be innovative, viable, scalable and sustainable. Additionally, we experienced issues with the client's endorsement application, initially due to the fact that they intended to outsource some of the business, which does not meet the program's requirements.
Had They Tried Other Advisors?
We were not made aware by the client that they tried alternative advisors before pursuing the program with HLG.
Our Approach
We first explained to the client that they either had to have a founding partner or keep the operation of the business in house. Following this discussion with the client and business advisor, we were able to rectify the client's issue. Once the business idea was clarified, we assisted the client with drafting the business plan and arranged other necessary documentation to submit for their endorsement. After the review by the endorsing body, the client was called in for an interview. Having thoroughly prepared the client for this interview, the endorsement was granted. We then finalised and submitted the UK Innovator Founder Visa application, working closely with the client to obtain their final documents.

Constant contact with the client was essential to ensuring the smooth processing of their case. We promptly answered any queries or confusion to reassure the client. As we straightaway took note of their initial concerns regarding the business idea, we were able to have clear discussions to explain the required elements, making it much simpler for the client to finalise a suitable business idea.
How We Overcame the Complications
The client had initially planned to outsource part of their business rather than complete this all in house, which would have caused potential issues with their endorsement application. But via discussions with the client and a business advisor, we were able to deal with these queries and continue their endorsement application. We then received positive feedback on their business plan and idea from the endorser.
